Dalla newsletter: CITAZIONEFebruary 1, 2022 – AUSTRALIA, Brisbane – The Aussie video game studio is celebrating 20 years of TY the Tasmanian Tiger by kicking-off the 2022 Year of the Tiger with the release of a 20th Anniversary Celebration video.
YouTube: TY the Tasmanian Tiger 20th Anniversary Celebration
"This coming September 10th will mark twenty years since TY the Tasmanian Tiger was launched on Xbox, Game Cube and PlayStation 2." Robert Walsh of Krome Studios shares with enthusiasm. He continues, "September is also when we'll be releasing a next TY the Tasmanian Tiger game."
What we can reveal; it is not a TY the Tasmanian Tiger 3 project.
TY4? NextTY? Something cute? Another Kickstarter? Mobile? Card game?
Let us know what you think it might be. If a mate's forwarded you this email, be sure to sign-up for our Krome Insider newsletter and get all of our Year of the (Tasmanian) Tiger announcements first.
Originally published by Electronic Arts in 2002, this classic character platformer is enjoying a modern comeback.
“It was great to physically hold the updated HD versions from the store shelves this year,” shares Steve Stamatiadis, TY the Tasmanian Tiger's creator and Creative Director at Krome Studios. "It's hard not to think about creating new 20th anniversary things." No doubt the TY the Tasmanian Tiger fans out there are curious too.
Lindsay Parmenter, Krome’s Head of Development continues, “There are some other things thundering around here in the background that aren't TY-related. We'll have more announcements soon and during the year ahead.”
What's not vague is that TY the Tasmanian Tiger is Krome Studios' charming Australiana-themed video game that debuted for Nintendo GameCube™, Xbox™, and PlayStation®2 systems. Krome Studios was a finalist of the Australian Game Developer Association annual awards with Best Handheld Game, Best Game Audio, and Outstanding Visual Arts.
For now, we'll just have to sit tight and wait to see what's to come.
But what's up with that video? In a recent internal meeting, Steve shared, "Last year we spent a couple of weeks experimenting with a new game engine. We wanted to get a feel, an idea, of what it could be like. It'd been awhile since we did a fresh render of TY, and it looks great in the Unity engine."

Per quanto mi riguarda li sto supportando il più possibile, presi tutti e 4 su PC, presi il primo e secondo su switch e PS. Dovessero davvero fare uscire un nuovo capitolo 3D sarebbe una bomba! .
